Hadith 3248

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، كَانَتْ لَهُ جَارِيَةٌ فَارِسِيَّةٌ، وَكَانَ يَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا، فَجَاءَتْ بِوَلَدٍ، فَأَعْتَقَ الْوَلَدَ وَجَلَدَهَا الْحَدَّ، وَقَالَ: «إِنَّمَا كُنْتُ أَسْتَطِيبُ نَفْسَكِ وَلَا أُرِيدُكِ»
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) had a Persian slave woman. He had relations with her, but as a precaution, he practiced coitus interruptus. When she became pregnant, he imposed the prescribed punishment on her and set the child free.
