بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْعِنِّينِChapter on what is reported regarding the impotent man
Hadith 3198

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، بَعَثَ رَجُلًا عَلَى بَعْضِ السِّعَايَةِ فَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً، وَكَانَ عَقِيمًا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ ذَكَرَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: «هَلْ أَعْلَمْتَهَا أَنَّكَ عَقِيمٌ؟» قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: «فَانْطَلِقْ فَأَعْلِمْهَا ثُمَّ خَيِّرْهَا»
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever married a woman and did not inform her of his infertility, he should go and inform the woman and give her the choice."
