أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، نا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ، كَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي مُسَلْسَلٍ خِيفَ عَلَى امْرَأَتِهِ قَالَ: «يُؤَجَّلُ سَنَةً، فَإِنْ نَزَا، وَإِلَّا فُرِّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا»
Hazrat Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that there is a danger in the matter of a sick person, so Sayyiduna Umar replied: "A respite of one year should be given, then if they become intimate, it is fine, otherwise separation should be done."
