بَابُ مَنْ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ مَرِيضًا وَمَنْ يَرِثُهَاChapter on one who divorces his wife while ill and who inherits from her
Hadith 3147

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ، قَالَ: نا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ، «طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَمَاتَ بَعْدَ مَا حَلَّتْ، فَوَرَّثَهَا عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ»
It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah and Hazrat Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on them) that Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) divorced his wife during his illness, the wife became permissible (completed her 'iddah), then he passed away, so Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) declared the wife as an heir.
