بَابُ مَا يَقَعُ لَهُ إِيلَاءُ الْيَمِينِChapter on when the oath of abstinence takes effect
Hadith 3107

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَمُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: «إِيلَاءُ الْعَبْدِ مِنَ الْحُرَّةِ أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ، وَإِيَلَاؤُهُ مِنَ الْأَمَةِ شَهْرَيْنِ»
It is narrated from Hasan and Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on them, that if a slave makes ila’ (oath of abstinence) from a free woman, then the period will be four months, and if he does so from a slave woman, then the period will be two months.
