بَابُ مَا يَقَعُ لَهُ إِيلَاءُ الْيَمِينِChapter on when the oath of abstinence takes effect
Hadith 3101

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: «الطَّلَاقُ يَهْدِمُ الْإِيلَاءَ» وَقَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ: «يَسْتَبِقَانِ كَأَنَّهُمَا فَرَسَا رِهَانٍ»
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that divorce ends ila (oath of abstinence), and Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said that both (divorce and ila) race each other like two racing horses.
