Hadith 31

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَفِينَا الْأَعْجَمِيُّ وَالْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَقَالَ: اقْرَؤُوا، وَكُلٌّ حَسَنٌ، وَسَيَأْتِي قَوْمٌ يُقَوِّمُونَهُ كَمَا يُقَوَّمُ الْقِدْحُ، يَتَعَجَّلُونَهُ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهُ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us while we were reciting the Qur'an, and among us were non-Arabs and villagers. He said: "Recite, and every recitation is good, but soon there will come people who will straighten it like an arrow, they will rush and will not recite with deliberation."
