بَابُ الرَّجُلِ لَهُ أَرْبَعُ نِسْوَةٍ فَيُطَلِّقُ إِحْدَاهُنَّChapter on a man with four wives who divorces one of them
Hadith 2918

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنِ رَجُلٍ لَهُ أَرْبَعُ نِسْوَةٍ فَطَلَّقَ وَاحِدَةً، قَالَ: «لَا يَنْكِحُ حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّةُ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ»
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If a person has four wives and he divorces one of them, then until the waiting period (‘iddah) of the divorced woman is completed, he should not marry a new wife."
