Hadith 29

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ: أَنَا شَيْخٌ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: أَعْرِبُوا الْقُرْآنَ ; فَإِنَّهُ عَرَبِيٌّ، وَسَيَكُونُ بَعْدَكُمْ أَقْوَامٌ يَثْقَفُونَهُ وَلَيْسُوا بِخِيَارِكُمْ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Recite the Qur'an in the correct Arabic accent, for it is in Arabic, and after you there will come people who will recite it incorrectly, even though they will not be the best among you.
