Hadith 2890

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: «الصَّبِيُّ لَا تَجُوزُ لَهُ عَطِيَّةٌ وَلَا عِتْقٌ حَتَّى يَحْتَلِمَ، وَالْجَارِيَةُ حَتَّى تَحِيضَ. وَكَانَ لَا يَهَابُ مِنْ أَمْرِ الصَّبِيِّ إِلَّا الطَّلَاقَ»
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "It is not permissible to give a gift or to free a slave on behalf of a child until he reaches puberty, and for a girl, menstruation is necessary." And he was only concerned about divorce in the case of a child.
