Hadith 2877

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لِامْرَأَتِهِ: أَنْتِ عَلَيَّ حَرَامٌ، فَإِنْ نَوَى ثَلَاثًا فَثَلَاثٌ، وَإِنْ نَوَى وَاحِدَةً فَوَاحِدَةٌ بَائِنَةٌ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَنْوِ شَيْئًا فَيَمِينٌ يُكَفِّرُهَا "
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If a man says to his wife: 'You are forbidden to me,' then if he intends three divorces, it is three; if he intends one, it is one irrevocable (bainah); and if he has no intention, then it is an oath and its expiation will be due."
