Hadith 2828

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَأنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «إِنِ اخْتَارَتْ نَفْسَهَا فَوَاحِدَةٌ بَائِنَةٌ، وَإِنِ اخْتَارَتْ زَوْجَهَا فَوَاحِدَةٌ وَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا»
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If the woman chooses herself, then it is one irrevocable divorce; and if she chooses her husband, then it is one divorce and the husband has more right."
