Hadith 2811

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، وَمُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَامِرٍ، قَالَا فِي رَجُلٍ قَالَ لِامْرَأَتِهِ: اخْتَارِي، اخْتَارِي، اخْتَارِي، فَاخْتَارَتْ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً قَالَا: هِيَ ثَلَاثٌ وَإِنْ قَالَ لَهَا: اخْتَارِي فَاخْتَارَتْ ثَلَاثًا فَهِيَ وَاحِدَةٌ "
Hazrat 'Amir Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) and Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When a man says to his wife three times: 'Choose, choose, choose,' and the wife chooses once, then three divorces will take place; and if he says it once and the wife gives divorce three times, then only one divorce will take place."
