بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يَجْعَلُ أَمْرَ امْرَأَتِهِ بِيَدِهَاChapter on a man giving his wife the right to decide
Hadith 2800

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: إِذَا خَيَّرَ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ فَلَمْ تَقُلْ شَيْئًا حَتَّى يَفْتَرِقَا قَالَ: «سُكُوتُهَا رِضًى بِزَوْجِهَا، لَيْسَ لَهَا أَنْ تَخْتَارَ كُلَّمَا شَاءَتْ» .
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "If a man gives his wife the choice and the wife remains silent until both separate, then her silence is considered consent to her husband; now she will not have the choice at any other time."
