بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يَجْعَلُ أَمْرَ امْرَأَتِهِ بِيَدِهَاChapter on a man giving his wife the right to decide
Hadith 2792

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، فِي الرَّجُلِ يَقُولُ لِامْرَأَتِهِ: أَمْرُكِ بِيَدِكِ فَتُطَلِّقُ نَفْسَهَا ثَلَاثًا قَالَ: «إِنَّ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ اجْتَمَعَا عَلَى أَنَّهَا وَاحِدَةٌ، وَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا»
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If a man says to his wife, 'The matter is in your hands,' and she gives herself three divorces, then both Sayyiduna Umar and Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) agreed that this counts as one divorce, and the husband has more right over her."
