Hadith 2761

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: «اللِّعَانُ تَطْلِيقَةٌ بَائِنَةٌ، وَإِنْ يُكَذِّبْ نَفْسَهُ جُلِدَ، وَخَطَبَهَا إِنْ شَاءَ»
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Li'an is an irrevocable divorce; if the one who performed li'an declares himself to be a liar, the prescribed punishment will be applied, and if he wishes, he can remarry.
