Hadith 2721

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٌ، حَلَفَ بِطَلَاقِ امْرَأَتِهِ أَنَّهُ دَفَعَ إِلَيْهَا دِرْهَمًا فَقَالَتْ: لَمْ تَدْفَعْ إِلَيَّ شَيْئًا قَالَ: «يُصَدَّقُ وَالْقَوْلُ قَوْلُهُ»
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked that if a person swore an oath that if he had given a dirham to his wife, then divorce would take place. The wife denied it. He replied: Her statement will be considered valid; she will be regarded as truthful.
