بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يُطَلِّقُ الْمَرْأَةَ تَطْلِيقَةً أَوْ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدَ زَوْجٍ عَلَى كَمْ تَكُونُ عِنْدَهُChapter: A man divorces his wife once or twice, then she returns to him after marrying another—how many times does she have left with him?
Hadith 2715

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، نا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ مُغِيرَةُ: وَأَظُنُّهُ قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ، إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا تَزَوَّجَتْ زَوْجًا فَدَخَلَ بِهَا فَإِنَّ دُخُولَهُ يَهْدِمُ بَقِيَّةَ الطَّلَاقِ، وَإِذَا لَمْ يَدْخُلْ بِهَا فَهِيَ عَلَى مَا بَقِيَ»
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that if the second husband consummates the marriage, the first divorce is nullified, and if he does not consummate, the first divorce remains.
