Hadith 2684

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، " أَنَّ سُبَيْعَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ، تَعَالَتْ مِنْ نِفَاسِهَا بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِأَيَّامٍ، فَمَرَّ بِهَا أَبُو السَّنَابِلِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ لَا تَحِلِّينَ حَتَّى تَمْكُثِي أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا، فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «كَذَبَ أَبُو السَّنَابِلِ لَيْسَ كَمَا قَالَ، قَدْ حَلَلْتِ فَانْكِحِي»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubaydullah bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the postnatal bleeding of Sabi’ah bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) ended a few days after her husband’s death. Abu Sanabil said: Complete four months and ten days. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «كذب أبوالسنابل، قد حللت فانكحي».
