قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ}His saying, Exalted is He: {O you who have believed, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you.}
Hadith 265

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُدَيْرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: (وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطَوَّقُونَهُ)، وَقَالَ: لَوْ كَانَ " يُطِيقُونَهُ " إِذًا صَامُوا .
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) used to recite this verse: ﴿وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ﴾ «وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطَوَّقُونَهُ» and said: If «يُطِيقُونَهُ» had been, they would have fasted.
