كتاب الطلاقBook of Divorce
وَقَالَ حَمَّادٌ: «لَيْسَ فِي مَالِهَا شَيْءٌ»And Hammad said: "There is nothing from her wealth."

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ أَبِي مِسْكِينٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَدْ نَشَزَتْ عَلَى زَوْجِهَا، فَوَعَظَهَا وَذَكَّرَهَا، وَأَمَرَهَا بِطَاعَةِ زَوْجِهَا، فَقَالَتْ: لَئِنْ رَدَدْتَنِي إِلَيْهِ لَأَقْتُلَنَّ نَفْسِي. فَأَمَرَ بِهَا إِلَى إِسْطَبْلِ الدَّوَابِّ، فَمَكَثَتْ فِيهِ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا: كَيْفَ وَجَدْتِ مَكَانَكِ الَّذِي كُنْتِ بِهِ؟ قَالَتْ: مَا وَجَدْتُ رَاحَةً مُنْذُ كُنْتُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا فِي هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثِ لَيَالِي. فَقَالَ لِزَوْجِهَا: اخْلَعْهَا بِدُونِ عِقَاصِ رَأْسِهَا؛ فَلَا خَيْرَ لَكَ فِيهَا "
A woman came to Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) who hated her husband. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) advised her, but she said: If I am sent back to my husband, I will commit suicide. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) kept her in the animal stable for three days, then asked: How did you find it? She said: I felt comfort in these three days. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the husband: Grant her khul‘ (divorce) in exchange for a small thing; there is no good for you in her.
