وَقَالَ حَمَّادٌ: «لَيْسَ فِي مَالِهَا شَيْءٌ»And Hammad said: "There is nothing from her wealth."

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً اشْتَرَتْ مِنْ زَوْجِهَا تَطْلِيقَهُ بِأَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَجَازَهُ، وَقَالَ: «هَذِهِ امْرَأَةٌ ابْتَاعَتْ نَفْسَهَا مِنْ زَوْجِهَا ابْتِيَاعًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Shihab Khawlani and Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them) that a woman bought divorce from her husband by giving him one thousand dirhams. This matter was presented before Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), so he declared it permissible and said: This woman has ransomed herself from her husband.
