Hadith 2569

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي أُمِّ الْوَلَدِ إِذَا مَاتَ عَنْهَا وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ: «إِنْ وَلَدَتْهُ حَيًّا فَنَفَقَتُهَا مِنْ نَصِيبِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مَيِّتًا فَمِنْ جَمِيعِ الْمَالِ»
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If an umm walad gives birth to a living child, then her maintenance is from the share of that child." If she gives birth to a dead child, then all the wealth will be spent.
