Hadith 2546

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: " تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَتُهُ فِي بَيْتٍ بِأَجْرٍ، فَسُئِلَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: أَيْنَ تَعْتَدُّ؟ قَالَ: أَرَى حَسَنًا أَنْ تُعْطِيَ الْكِرَاءَ، وَتَعْتَدَّ فِي الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي كَانَتْ فِيهِ "
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a husband and wife were living in a rented house and the husband dies, where should the wife observe her 'iddah? He replied: It is better that she pays the rent and observes her 'iddah in the same house.
