Hadith 2533

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا سَيَّارٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الشَّعْبِيُّ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَتْ: طَلَّقَنِي زَوْجِي فَخَاصَمْتُ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَضَى لِي بِالسُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَهُ أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَنِي ثَلَاثًا «لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً، وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ امْرَأَةٍ»، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: يُتَحَدَّثُ إِلَيْهَا. قَالَتْ: «فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ»
Sayyida Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) said: In the beginning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) provided me with maintenance and accommodation, but when it became known that the divorce was irrevocable (ba'in), he said: There is neither maintenance nor accommodation for you, and he ordered that I observe my 'iddah in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.
