Hadith 2525

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي، فَأَصْبَحَتْ غَادِيَةً إِلَى أَهْلِهَا. فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: «مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ لِي دِينَهَا بِتَمْرَةٍ أَوْ تَمْرَتَيْنِ»
A man asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): I divorced my wife and she went to her home in the morning. He replied: I do not like that her religion should be with me in exchange for one or two dates.
