حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: تُوُفِّيَ أَزْوَاجُ نِسْوَةٍ وَهُنَّ حَاجَّاتٌ أَوْ مُعْتَمِرَاتٌ، فَرَدَّهُنَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ يَعْتَدُّونَ فِي بُيُوتِهِنَّ
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) sent back those women from Dhul-Hulaifah to their homes, who had set out for Hajj or Umrah and whose husbands had passed away, so that they could complete their waiting period (‘iddah).
