بَابُ مَنْ رَاجِعَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهُوَ غَائِبٌ وَهِيَ لَا تَعْلَمُChapter: One who takes back his wife while absent and she does not know
Hadith 2495

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا طَلَّقَ الرُّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ، ثُمَّ رَاجَعَهَا فِي غَيْبٍ أَوْ مَشْهَدٍ فَلَمْ يُعْلِمْهَا الرَّجْعَةَ حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ الْعِدَّةُ، فَلَا سَبِيلَ لَهُ عَلَيْهَا»
It is narrated from Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: If the husband revokes (the divorce) but does not inform the wife and the waiting period passes, then he has no right over her.
