بَابُ الْأَمَةِ تُطَلَّقُ فَتُعْتَقُ فِي الْعِدَّةِChapter: A slave woman is divorced and freed during her waiting period
Hadith 2458

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْجَارِيَةَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ الْمَحِيضَ ثُمَّ يُطَلِّقُهَا، قَالَ: «تَعْتَدُّ ثَلَاثَةَ أَشْهُرٍ فَإِنْ حَاضَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْقَضِيَ الشُّهُورُ اسْتَأْنَفَتِ الْحِيَضَ»
Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If a man marries a girl who has not yet reached menstruation, then divorces her, she should observe an 'iddah of three months. If she starts menstruating before the completion of the months, then the 'iddah will be counted from the menstruation.
