بَابُ الْأَمَةِ تُطَلَّقُ فَتُعْتَقُ فِي الْعِدَّةِChapter: A slave woman is divorced and freed during her waiting period
Hadith 2454

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ: نا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ: " يَنْكِحُ الْعَبْدُ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَيُطَلِّقُ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ، وَتَعْتَدُّ الْأَمَةُ حَيْضَتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَحِضْ فَشَهْرًا وَنِصْفًا أَوْ قَالَ: شَهْرَيْنِ، شَكَّ سُفْيَانُ "
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Utbah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A slave can marry two women and can give two divorces. And the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstruations. If she does not menstruate, then one and a half months or two months.
