قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ ذَوِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَالسَّائِلِينَ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ}His saying, Exalted is He: {And gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves.}
Hadith 245

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ الْإِيَامِيِّ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ } قَالَ: تُؤْتِيهِ وَأَنْتَ صَحِيحٌ شَحِيحٌ، تَأْمُلُ الْعَيْشَ وَتَخْشَى الْفَقْرَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “And gives wealth, in spite of love for it” means he gives wealth while he himself is healthy and eager, hoping for life and fearing poverty.
