Hadith 2367

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، كَتَبَ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ: اعْتَدِّي فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَأَتْهَا الْكِتَابُ، فَقَالَ: «أَمَّا زَوْجُهَا فَتَكَلَّمَ بِطَلَاقِهَا، لَا يَضُرُّهَا أَتَاهَا كِتَابُهُ أَمْ لَا فَلْتَصْنَعْ مَا أَمَرَهَا بِهِ زَوْجُهَا»
Hazrat Aamir Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If someone wrote a letter to his wife and the wife says that she did not receive the letter, but the husband has given divorce, whether the letter reaches her or not, she must act according to the husband's command.
