حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ} [الطلاق: 1] «أَنْ يُطَلِّقَهَا مِنْ غَيْرِ جِمَاعٍ، ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَ حَتَّى تَحِيضَ حَيْضَةً ثُمَّ تَطْهُرَ، ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَ حَتَّى تَحِيضَ حَيْضَةً ثُمَّ تَطْهُرَ، إِنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَ رَاجَعَهَا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said in the explanation of the verse «فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ»: "Divorce should be given without intercourse, then one menstruation occurs and she becomes pure, then a second menstruation occurs and she becomes pure; if he wishes, he may take her back."
