حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا الْأَجْلَحُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، فَقَالَ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي رَجُلٍ قَالَ: إِنْ تَزَوَّجْتُ فُلَانَةَ فَهِيَ طَالِقٌ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَيْسَ بِشَيْءٍ، بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِالنِّكَاحِ قَبْلَ الطَّلَاقِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ} [الأحزاب: 49]، فَبَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِالنِّكَاحِ قَبْلَ الطَّلَاقِ، وَلَيْسَ قَوْلُهُ بِشَيْءٍ "
A person asked Hazrat Ali bin Husain (may Allah have mercy on him): If I divorce after marriage, what is the ruling? He replied: "This is nothing; Allah has given precedence to marriage over divorce."
