Hadith 22

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ (مُجَاهِدًا) يَقُولُ: الْقُرْآنُ يَشْفَعُ لِصَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، يَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ، جَعَلْتَنِي فِي جَوْفِهِ، فَأَسْهَرْتُ لَيْلَهُ، وَمَنَعْتُهُ كَثِيرًا مِنْ شَهْوَتِهِ، وَلِكُلِّ عَامِلٍ عُمَالَةٌ ! فَيَقُولُ: ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ، أَوْ قَالَ: يَمِينَكَ ! فَيَمْلَأُهَا مِنْ رِضْوَانِهِ، فَلَا يَسْخَطُ عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَهَا . ثُمَّ يُقَالُ: اقْرَهْ، وَارْقَهْ، فَيُرْفَعُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ دَرَجَةٌ، وَبِكُلِّ آيَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The Qur'an will intercede for its companion on the Day of Resurrection and will say: "O my Lord! You placed me in his chest, I kept him awake at night, and I restrained him from many desires, and every doer is given a reward!" Then (Allah Almighty) will say: "Stretch out your hand!" or He said: "Stretch out your right hand!" Then his hand will be filled with the pleasure of Allah, and He will never be displeased with him. Then it will be said: "Recite and ascend!" For every verse, his rank will be raised by one degree, and for every verse, he will be given a good deed.
