حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا أَبُو عَلْقَمَةَ الْفَرْوِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَكِيمِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ أَبِي عَرَضَ عَلَيَّ امْرَأَةً يُزَوِّجُنِيهَا، فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَهَا، وَقُلْتُ: هِيَ طَالِقٌ الْبَتَّةَ يَوْمَ أَتَزَوَّجُهَا، ثُمَّ نَدِمْتُ فَقَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَعُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَقَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا طَلَاقَ إِلَّا بَعْدَ نِكَاحٍ»
Amr bin Shu'aib says that my father proposed a woman for me, and I refused, saying: If I marry her, she will be forbidden to me like my mother. Then I regretted it. When I came to Madinah, I asked Sa'id bin al-Musayyib and 'Urwah bin al-Zubair (may Allah have mercy on them), and they said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: There is no divorce before marriage."
