قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَاتَّبَعُوا مَا تَتْلُو الشَّيَاطِينُ عَلَى مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَانَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَلَكِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ كَفَرُوا يُعَلِّمُونَ النَّاسَ السِّحْرَ وَمَا أُنْـزِلَ عَلَى الْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَارُوتَ وَمَارُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّى يَقُولا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ وَمَا هُمْ بِضَارِّينَ بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ}His saying, the Exalted: "And they followed what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But they do not teach anyone unless they say, 'We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic].' And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah..."
Hadith 206

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا شِهَابُ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ، عَنِ الْعَوَّامِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: فِي سَفَرٍ - فَقَالَ لِي: ارْمُقِ الْكَوْكَبَةَ، فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ أَيْقِظْنِي، فَلَمَّا طَلَعَتْ أَيْقَظْتُهُ فَاسْتَوَى جَالِسًا، فَجَعَلَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَيَسُبُّهَا سَبًّا شَدِيدًا، فَقُلْتُ: يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، نَجْمًا سَامِعًا مُطِيعًا، مَا لَهُ يُسَبُّ ؟ فَقَالَ: هَا، إِنَّ هَذِهِ كَانَتْ بَغِيًّا فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَلَقِيَ الْمَلَكَانِ مِنْهَا مَا لَقِيَا .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I was with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), probably on a journey. He said to me: "Keep watching the cluster of stars; when it rises, wake me up." When it rose, I woke him up. He sat up and began to speak very harshly against it. I said, "Abu Abdur Rahman! May Allah have mercy on you, this is a listening and obedient star, why do you speak ill of it?" He replied, "Listen! There was an immoral woman among the Children of Israel, and two angels had to endure from her what they had to endure."
