Hadith 1948

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً وَكَانَ يَبِيتُ عِنْدَهَا فَطَلَّقَهَا، فَقَالَتْ: لَمْ يَقْرَبْنِي وَكَانَ يَبِيتُ عِنْدِي وَعَلَيَّ ثِيَابِي قَالَ: «عَلَيْهَا الْعِدَّةُ وَلَهَا الصَّدَاقُ أَلَا تَرَى أَنَّهَا لَوِ ادَّعَتْ حَمْلًا صُدِّقَتْ»
It is narrated from Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man married, and his wife said: He would spend the night with me but the clothes would remain as they were. Ibrahim said: "The woman is obliged to observe 'iddah and her dowry is also due. Do you not see that if a woman claims pregnancy, she is also believed?"
