Hadith 1924

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ الرُّكَيْنِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ «تَزَوَّجَ فُلَانُ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ لَيْلَى بِنْتَ الْعَجْمَاءِ فِي زَمَنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ آلَافٍ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُعْطِيَهَا مِنْ صَدَاقِهَا شَيْئًا»
It is narrated that Fulan bin Harmuz married Sayyida Laila bint al-Ajma’ during the time of Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) with a dowry of four thousand, and he went to his wife without paying the dowry.
