Hadith 1923

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ أَبِي عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ - وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً وَأَنَّهُ أَعْسَرَ عَنْ صَدَاقِهَا - فَقَالَ: «إِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ إِلَّا إِحْدَى نَعْلَيْكَ فَأَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهَا وَادْخُلْ بِهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that a man asked him: "I have married a woman but I am unable to pay the dowry." He replied: "If you have even a shoe, give it to her and go to your wife."
