حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ الْفَزَارِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: مَا أُبَالِي، تَعَلَّمْتُ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ثُمَّ تَرَكْتُهَا، أَوْ مَشَيْتُ فِي النَّاسِ مَقْطُوعَةً يَدِي . ! "
Suwaid bin Jubalah al-Fazari (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I do not care whether I learned a surah of the Qur'an and then abandoned it, or that I am walking among the people with a severed hand.
