قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلاةِ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ}His saying, the Exalted: "And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]"
Hadith 189

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ فَنُعِيَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنٌ لَهُ، فَنَزَلَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اسْتَرْجَعَ، وَقَالَ: فَعَلْنَا كَمَا أَمَرَنَا اللهُ تَعَالَى: { وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلاةِ } .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was on a journey when he received news of his son's death. So he stopped, performed two units of prayer, then recited: "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return," and said: "We have done what Allah Almighty has commanded us: 'And seek help through patience and prayer.'"
