حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ، قَالَ: أُتِيَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِامْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَتْ عَبْدَهَا فَقَالَ: " مَا حَمَلَكِ عَلَى هَذَا؟، قَالَتْ: هُوَ مِلْكُ يَمِينِي، أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ مِلْكَ الْيَمِينِ؟ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَضُرِبَتْ، وَأُتِيَ بِامْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَتْ بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ فَضَرَبَهَا، وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْأَمْصَارِ يَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Bakr bin Abdullah Al-Muzani (may Allah have mercy on him): A woman was brought to Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) who had married her slave. He was strict with her and wrote to the cities that a woman should not marry her slave or marry without a guardian, otherwise she should be punished.
