Hadith 1886

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لِلَّتِي تَزَوَّجَتْ فِي عِدَّتِهَا: «يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَهُمَا، وَتُكْمِلُ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عِدَّتِهَا مِنَ الْأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ تَعْتَدُّ مِنَ الْآخَرِ»
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "They should be separated, the woman should complete the remaining waiting period (‘iddah) of her first husband, then observe the waiting period of the second husband."
