Hadith 1885

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي رَجُلٍ غَابَ عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، فَتَزَوَّجَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ، فَقَدِمَ زَوْجُهَا قَالَ: «تَعْتَدُّ مِنَ الْآخَرِ ثُمَّ تُدْفَعُ إِلَى الْأَوَّلِ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When the first husband returns, the woman should observe the waiting period (‘iddah) from the second husband, then return to the first husband."
