بَابُ الْمَرْأَةِ تُزَوَّجُ فِي عِدِّتِهَاChapter: A woman marrying during her waiting period ('iddah)

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ " فَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا الصَّدَاقَ بِمَا اسْتَحَلَّ مِنْ فَرْجِهَا، وَقَالَ: إِذَا انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا إِنْ شَاءَتْ تَزَوَّجَتْهُ فَعَلَتْ، قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ: وَهُوَ الْقَوْلُ عِنْدَنَا "
Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) separated the two, gave the woman her dowry, and said: "When her waiting period ('iddah) is over, if she wishes, she can marry the same man again." Hisham says: "This is also the correct opinion according to us."
