حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ «رَجَعَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ فِي الصَّدَاقِ، وَجَعَلَهُ لَهَا بِمَا اسْتَحَلَّ مِنْ فَرْجِهَا»
It is narrated from Hazrat Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) retracted his initial statement and gave the woman the dowry, because the man had benefited from her.
