Hadith 1825

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا عَوْفٌ، قَالَ: أنا الْحَسَنُ قَالَ: نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَخْطُبُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ، وَلَا يَسُومُ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ»
It is narrated from Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man should not marry a woman who is already engaged to his brother, nor should he purchase over his brother's purchase."
