حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ: أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ «أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أُمِّ الْحَكَمِ أَرَادَ امْرَأَتَهُ ابْنَةَ جَرِيرٍ فِي مَرَضِهِ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ مِيرَاثِهَا مِنْهُ فَأَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ، فَتَزَوَّجَ عَلَيْهَا امْرَأَتَيْنِ فَأَجَازَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ»
It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him): "Abdur Rahman bin Umm al-Hakam demanded inheritance from his wife, who was the daughter of Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him), during his illness. She refused, so Abdur Rahman married two other women. Abdul Malik bin Marwan declared this marriage permissible."
