بَابُ تَزْوِيجِ الْجَارِيَةِ الصَّغِيرَةِChapter: Marrying a young girl

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ قَوْمًا كَانُوا فِي سَفَرٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: مَنْ يَذْبَحُ الشَّاةَ لِلْقَوْمِ؟ وَلَهُ ابْنَتِي، أَوْ قَالَ: ابْنَةٌ تُولَدُ لِي، فَذَبَحَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ، فَلَمَّا وُلِدَ لَهُ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ: «قَدْ مَلَكْتَ الْمَرْأَةَ وَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِصَدَاقٍ»
Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "There were some people on a journey. One man said: 'Whoever slaughters a goat for us, I will marry my daughter to him, or the daughter who will be born to me.' A man slaughtered a goat. When the girl was born, the issue was referred to Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him). He said: 'You have become the owner of the woman, but this is not a dowry (mahr).'"
